FORTHCOMING EVENTS
AGM AND LONDON LUNCHEON
Wednesday 26 March 2008
As usual the AGM will be held at The National Liberal Club in Whitehall Place. Coffee will be available from 11 am with the AGM scheduled to start at 11.30. Apart from all the usual business we will have a special item to consider. The rules at present require all members to be balloted prior to the Association being wound up. Since there is no alternative to closure we wish to change the rule. The price for the AGM and Luncheon will be £25, as usual.
Our speaker will be Bob King who was at Bletchley Park intercepting German wartime coded messages.
The title of his talk is Bletchley Park & German Intelligence.
A LETTER FROM AUSTRALIA AND ONE FROM INDIA
We get letters and e-mails from all over the world from Faradians. This one is from Robert Bale in Western Australia. If you want his address I will let you have it. It is dated 5 May 2007.
"It is with feelings of sadness that I read in Newsletter 71 that the FHOSA is coming to an end, after a century. Living, as I do, in Australia, it was never possible for me to take an active part in any meetings or enjoy any of the visits, much as I would have wished to do so. My renewed regrets and thanks to and the Members of the Council for their work over the years on members behalf"
This one is from DA Rajan in Chenai, India dated 28 May 2007
"Thank you for the latest news of the FHOSA and the minutes of the AGM held on 28 March. Congratulations to all the past Presidents, Secretaries and Office Bearers for keeping the Association active. It is a pity our association may see only 105 years."
Thanks from the Council to all of you who have written in similar vein.
